Matt Hancock has announced this morning changes to the Covid tier arrangements across England. He has confirmed that as with most tier three designated areas Derbyshire remains in tier three, meaning that we shall remain closed for the forseeable future.
Our planned Christmas and New Year opening times, as posted previously, are thus cancelled. Customers who have made reservations, in our restaurant and/or for accommodation over the festive holiday period and who have paid deposits will be refunded those deposits.
We are sorry for the obvious disappointments but governement regulations dictate that we must remain closed, certainly into the New Year. We anticipate a review of the allocation to tiers early in the New Year, but in view of the relaxation in rules governing the mixing of househiods over the Christmas holiday period and, what appears to us to be, a likely resultant increase in Covid infection rates, we think it entirely likely that we shall have to remain closed well into January, and maybe beyond.
